The combination of the Ultralight Balsa Wood Core and the use of carbon instead of metal, creates such a light weight yet powerful ski. Carbon has become such a popular substitute element for metal in ski construction. With carbon being used in the core instead of titanal, the Sentra S 6 is able to maintain a superior edge grip and torsional rigidity without much weight gain in the ski construction. Generally high-end carving skis that include metal in the construction are rather demanding, depleting leg strength as you work hard run after run, requiring a certain amount of speed to get the ideal performance out of the ski. Carbon being used in the construction has eliminated the intense demand of high-performance carving skis for the better.
