From the middle of January I had two weeks off at home, due to the crash which I had in the FIS race in Reiteralm. The first week I spent resting and visiting family and friends then during the second week I started to go back to the gym preparing myself to go back to Austria. Once I was finally back, I had some time training on the track in Reiteralm before heading back into the races. The first race which I went back to was the Europa Cup in Grasgehren, Germany. At this race the snow conditions were really bad due to how warm it had been and it had been raining, so the training day before the race was cancelled. Then on the race day the start section and the turns had become very soft and rutted, so the race organisers decided to cancel the second race day and have qualification on the first day and the heats on the second. I really struggled in the conditions placing me in 24th and not able to do heats the next day. After the race we came back to base in Austria, where we got to have a day on track before was closed to prepare for the World Cup happening soon in Reiteralm, then we trained GS for the rest of the week to prepare for the next race in Italy.

The next race which we had was two Europa Cups in San Pellegrion, Italy. I managed to have some really good training runs and heats here but when it came to qualification I wasn’t able to have the perfect runs. This was frustrating for me knowing I had very well put together training runs, but thats racing and I now need to prepare for the next. Coming up I have a couple days back in the UK then I will be back for some training before we head back to San Pellegrion for more Europa Cups.
