Unlock The Mountain - Most of us rely on advice from our friends to improve.  It’s time to change that. Meet Carv your new ski coach - Carv fits in any ski boot. It analyses your technique and gives you with live professional audio coaching, as you ski. Unlimited coaching for the cost of a few lessons.

The Tech - Tough yet sensitive. Carv have packed 36 pressure sensors and a 9 axis 3D motion sensor with accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer into each insert and built it to withstand hard days of skiing. The best part is, because Carv fits under the liner of your boot, you can use it in custom moulded ski boots, stock boots or rentals. It even works with your custom insoles. Batteries that will outlast your legs. Carv feature optimised battery chemistry to handle the cold, giving you over 3 days of skiing per charge. That’s more than anyone’s legs can handle. Built to fall! Carv’s battery pack sits on the strap of your boot with a specially designed clip and a robust case to keep it secure, no matter how radical your turns (or how often you fall). All of this in a compact (3mm thick), lightweight (296g per foot) waterproof design.

Ski your own way - Sometimes we just want to ski without distraction. In Free Ski mode, Carv works in the background to analyse your skiing. When you get on the chairlift, Carv will give the best tip to help you improve on your next run.

Ski:IQ™ is the foundation of Carv - analysing data collected from 72 sensors to produce one simple - and accurate - score of your skiing technique.

In just a few years we have created the world’s most powerful technique database, with over 70 million turns and counting.

This winter, we have used that incredible resource to build an even more powerful Ski:IQ™ model. Our team of data scientists have refined and built new metrics in collaboration with world-class ski instructors from the PSIA, CSIA and Interski.

We have further improved the Ski:IQ™ metric weightings to ensure you receive the most accurate score and tips this season.

Balance, re-balanced

Finding balance on your skis can be hard, so we want to make your balance score as easy to understand as possible. Introducing our three new Balance metrics:

• Start of turn - How well do you shift your balance onto the balls of your feet at the start of the turn?
• End of turn - How well do you shift your weight backwards to a centred stance after the apex of the turn?
• Topple - How accurately and smoothly do you shift pressure to the inside edge of your new outside ski in the first third of your turns?

We've turned around Rotary

This season, our Lead Data Scientist, Charlie, and his team have completely redesigned our Rotary metrics using a new statistical method. No matter your skiing ability, expect accurate rotary scoring of all your turns.

Introducing two new Rotary metrics, developed with top-level instructors:

• Parallel Skis - How well do you rotate your skis together, keeping them parallel throughout the turn?
• Rotary Smoothness - How smoothly can you rotate your skis throughout the turn?
