The Backland 85 UL allows to complete multi-day tours without getting exhausted thanks to its great lightness. This is achieved thanks to the Karuba and poplar wood core, paired to ultra-lightweight carbon fibre reinforcements. This results in a weight of only 950 g per ski! With the The Backland 85 UL, gliding in the descents is enjoyable as the carbon provides some stiffness in flexion and the Duracap Sidewalls construction contributes to torsional stiffness. With 85 mm at the waist, it has enough floatability for soft, wet snow and shallow powder. On hardpack, the classic camber and flat tail ensure good grip. However, as with any touring ski, it requires a good skill level to be handled.
