The workshop's quiet in July, and that's exactly why now is the best time to get your skis or snowboard booked in with us! Most people don't think about servicing until the leaves start turning, but by then we're stacked out and turnaround slows right down. Get ahead of it now and you'll thank yourself in November.
Why service in summer rather than autumn?
It really comes down to timing, and a bit of forward planning saves you a headache later.
- The workshop's quieter in July, so no queue and no rush
- We have time to do repairs properly, not squeezed in between everyone else's last-minute panic
- Kit left unserviced over summer often needs more work by autumn anyway, costing more and taking longer
What does a full summer service include?
When your kit comes in to us, here's what actually happens to it on the bench.
- Base grind to flatten and structure the base
- Edge sharpening to a consistent angle
- A fresh coat of protective wax, left on until your first run
- Binding check and DIN reset to your weight, height, boot sole length and ability
Should I get my boots checked too?
Skis and boards get all the attention, but boots quietly wear out just as much, often more, and it's easy to miss.
- Buckles, liners and shells all wear without you noticing mid-season
- If your boots were uncomfortable last season it might be a liner problem, not a sizing problem
- Worth checking before you commit to buying a new pair
How do I book a summer service slot?
It's genuinely this simple.
- Drop your kit in store, or give us a call to book
- Sorted in summer means it's ready the moment first snow falls, not three weeks after!
